A factlet is a portable, self-verifying knowledge object containing a specific claim plus the structured metadata required to evaluate, trace, validate, use, revise, and govern that claim. A factlet does not prove truth by existing. That would be a dangerous fantasy. Instead, a factlet preserves the basis on which a claim may be trusted, challenged, revised, or rejected.
